ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Medical Assistance Program addresses the need for quality medical care for those low-income households struck by illness and unable to afford treatment due to a lack of insurance coverage. Medical Assistance staff coordinates efforts with Vigo County physicians, specialists, hospitals, clinics, laboratories and testing facilities to provide service to low-income households at no cost. Upon occasion, the Medical Assistance Program has been able to provide limited assistance for prescription medication through the generosity of private donations to the program. Household income eligibility is based on 125% of the Federal Poverty guidelines.
